CONSTITUTION
1 TITLE
The Association shall be called Bradford Grammar School Art's Forum Parents' Association, (hereafter referred to as "the Art's Forum")
2 THE OBJECTIVES OF THE ART'S FORUM
2.1 To work in partnership with the school to embrace and support all pupils' creative art related activities.
2.2 To encourage extra curricular art and to facilitate access for all who are interested in art.
2.3 To complement the existing provision for art in education.
2.4 To carry out fund-raising to support Art trips and Art activities related to BGS.
3 MEMBERSHIP
3.1 Membership of the Art's Forum is open to all parents or guardians of
pupils at BGS. Members can invite co-opt members such as teachers or
BGS staff to join, however, the number of parent members must
always be greater than the number of co-opted members.
3.2 The membership will be a minimum of five members. The number of
Associates to the Art's Forum is unlimited.
4 OFFICERS
4.1 The Officers of the Art's forum("the Officers") shall all be Honorary
positions and shall be as follows:
Chairman
Vice Chairman
Secretary
Treasurer
4.2 The Officers shall be authorised to control the affairs of the Art's Forum between General meetings
5 ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE
5.1 The affairs of the Art's Forum shall be controlled by the Officers and
the other Members of the Art's Forum. All Members shall be eligible to
attend and participate in General and Annual General meetings (AGM)
of the Art's Forum. General meetings shall be held each BGS half term.
5.2 The Art's Forum will be operated on a non profit making basis. Costs
will be met through organising and running fund raising activities.
5.3 Accurate accounts of the finances of the Art's Forum will be kept by
the Treasurer. These accounts should be available for reasonable
inspection by Members and should be verified before every AGM. The
Art's Forum shall maintain a bank current account. Two out of any of
the four offices can release money through authorisation.
6 VOTING
6.1 Voting shall be carried out by a show of hands.
6.2 All Art's Forum Members present will be entitled to vote.
6.3 Another member must second any ideas before a vote can be taken.
7 CONDUCT
7.1 In carrying out their functions, members of the Art's Forum are
expected to act in accordance with the principles of BGS.
7.2 Members of the Art's Forum are also expected to uphold a duty of
confidence and refrain from disclosing any information received in the
course of their duties to third parties.
8 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS
8.1 The Annual General Meeting of the Art's Forum shall be held each year
on a date in the year determined as appropriate by the Members. At least 21 clear days written notice shall be given to Members of the AGM by sending a copy of the notice to every Member by the Secretary.
8.2 The business of the AGM shall be to:
8.2.1 Confirm the minutes of the previous AGM.
8.2.2 Receive the verified accounts for the year from the Treasurer.
8.2.3 Receive the annual report of the Art's Forum from the Chairman and Secretary.
8.2.4 Transact such other business raised before or during the meeting from Members.
8.3 All Officers shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Art's Forum, from, and by, the Members of the Art's Forum.
8.4 All Officers are elected for a period of one year,but may be re-elected to the same office or another office the following year. The Art's Forum may fill any casual vacancy, which occurs pending the next, scheduled AGM.
9 SUB GROUPS
9.1 The Art's Forum may appoint sub groups as it sees necessary
10 Constitutional Changes
10.1 This constitution may be changed with the consent of two thirds of
the Members at least four members voting during a General Meeting.
11 DISSOLUTION
11.1 If at any General Meeting of the Art's Forum, a resolution is passed
calling for the dissolution of the Art's Forum, the Secretary shall
immediately convene a Special General Meeting of the Association to
be within three months of the discussion to vote on the resolution.
11.2 If at that Special General Meeting, the resolution is carried by at
least two thirds of the Members present at the meeting and postal
casting votes, the Officers shall thereupon, or at such date as shall
have been specified in the resolution, proceed to realize the assets of
the Art's Forum and discharge all debts and liabilities of the Art's
Forum.
11.3 After discharging all debts and liabilities of the Art's Forum, the
remaining assets shall be given to or transferred to BGS.
